Livebloggin' In Corpus 4-8-2011

Im sitting here in the back of the room at The Vent Comedy Club at Gators in Corpus Christi. I came along with Blair Thompson and new Roommate Todd "The Gooch" Larson is headlining. I came down here to do a guest spot and hang out. However the opener that was scheduled to emcee was sick and I was asked to host, which means more time and I get paid. Thats always a plus. I get to leave with some money in my pocket. Blair Thompson and Todd both are killing it tonight. The first show as super lite, about 10 people there. It was a good run through practice set for the second show. Right now, theres about 40 people here at the second show. Some friends I have in C.C. showed up too. They requested I do the jokes about Nissan Cubicle. I happily obliged, its cool getting requests like that. Tonight I focused exclusively on working on newer material. My new goal is to try to write 5 mins of new material a month. After about a year thats a whole new hour, then I can widdle down the best 25-30 of that. The new bits Im working on are about wanting to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle as a kid, How Sam Elliot voice is in every commercial and How cameramen really have the most dangerous jobs. Im glad I got to videotape the second set (well, C.C. Comic Michael Clarkson filmed me). Cant wait to chop the video and upload some new clips online. Hopefully that will be soon. Last night My Vaio Desktop computer died last night. Im gonna go cry to my Daddy, hopefully get a new rig, maybe a Mac. Well Todd is about to wrap up his second set, I gotta go and close the show.
