KOOLAID is drying out

As Im typing this after teaching Comedy Defensive Driving a second day in a row (its only a tuesday) Ive been alcohol free for over a week and I feel great. Ive even gained weight in the one place that counts, my wallet. Since Ive cut out the booze theres all these green pieces of paper of dead slave owners in my wallet. Its kinda new to me to have cash in my wallet and money in the triple digits in my bank account too. Man, I might be growing up. Gross. It's weird I wake up feeling refreshed, I'm not groggy and I know exactly what happened the night before. Its like Ive gained a new superpower or something. I think I'm going to keep it up until I save up enough dough to buy a new computer or my Birthday, which is only 2 weeks away. I really haven't even been craving to drink either its weird. When I was house sitting at my Dads, theres was a metric shit ton of boozed Ive could've consumed. At one point I thought Ill make myself a cocktail, and thought, "Ugh why go through the hassle". I know Ill eventually drink again but for right now this break feels good.

Last night at the All Star show I had a killer set, the crowd was really good and receptive, they were hanging onto my every word. it felt incredible having that kind of power. The comics before did well too, both did a lot of fat jokes, so I stayed away from the well trodden material and just had a ton of fun. (see what I did there?)It was cool asking how much I had left and the crowd responded with "Keep going, keep going". Its nights like that make it easy to have fun. It was a small crowd, but a fun one none the less.

When I first arrived at the club last night, there was only the emcee. I thought "Awesome Im going to practice my 30 min set" but alas more comics showed up. I still got to do a little over 20, but to me it felt like 5.

Thanks, liver thats working at full capacity and unhindered by gallons of Lone Star beer.

Also picked up a new gig in Houston next month. Cant wait to come back to H-Town. Should be fun. I gotta find out who Im working with.
