Last Thursday I attended the RAWartists San Antonio Semi Final "RAWards" Show where I was lucky enough to be nominated and then won for "Performer of the Year".  My competition were Super Hot and founder of the Scarlet Darlings Burlesque, dancer named Annabella Lugosi. Sadly and (good for me) she could not make it to the show due to illness (My Plan worked, HA!). The other nominee was a belly dancer, I really didn't get to know her that well. She was super talented and had her crew in front of my setup and were dancing "at" me. I felt like I was getting served the whole night. I wasn't about to battle dance back at her. She seemed nice, but didn't bother introducing herself to me. Needless to say I was intimidated because A. She's talented, and B she could dance while balancing a giant sword on her head. I'm still baffled that there's 2 dancers and comic that made the top 3 for the nominations. Which shows me, the artistic types in San Antonio love Titties. Who could blame them? The judging was half audience and half from the judges. I got a lot of votes from the audience but I never assumed I would win. I thought If I win, "Hey Cool, I got a cool title/credit to put in my performing resume', get a chance to win Natl one" or lose and come up with a great bit about losing to a belly dancer that has a way smaller belly than I do.

 Now I'll be judged to potentially win the National RAWartists Title of "Performer of the Year". The other Winning performers are varied from a guy that stacks rocks, to a Dance Aerobic instructor. I couldn't even imagine losing to either of those two. The jokes I could come up with. Most of the Performers are either Dancers, Spoken word poets and a handful of magicians. I think I'm only one of 2 or 3 straight up comedians. It's still 45 people that I'm competing with. Hope I stand out enough to make an impact.

I'd like to thank Erika Mullins the RAW San Antonio Director, my good buddy and fellow comic Josh Cabaza for turning me on to RAW Artists. All the cool people I met, My fellow nominees in the other categories. Photographers Love me Yo!, The Judges and All the badass people that helped me with their votes. Now I gotta keep doing what I do.
